Ken Slyter

KenBioKen Slyter was born and raised on a farm in Spring Hill, Kansas, a farm that he recently purchased. His parents bought him his first guitar at the age of 5, and he's been strumming and picking on various instruments ever since. He learned to play the banjo at age 16 by listening to greats like Alan Munde, Bill Keith, Pat Cloud, and of course Earl Scruggs. He's played in various bluegrass bands from an early age, including Caribou, Special Notes, Outabounds, and the original Misty Mountain Band.

Ken's appeared at various venues in the Kansas City area, including the Kansas City Boulevard Bluegrass Revival, Kansas City Northtown Opry, the Heart of America Bluegrass Association, and at other bluegrass clubs, festivals, and opry shows. He has appeared on several albums, and as a member of Special Notes, he performed onstage with the late John Hartford.

Ken's solid guitar picking and abundant arsenal of banjo licks gives Misty Mountain Revival that high-powered bluegrass drive.
